The once in a year spectacle. This time I’m now legal.

On April 30, 1994, a dude from Quezon City was born. 18 years later, he’s now a legal gentleman. Today, I celebrate my 18th birthday. At this age, I can now vote for the elections in 2013 and I am entitled to a lot of other privileges as a proud Filipino citizen.

To celebrate the occasion, I decided to throw a simple house party in my humble home. Together with my family and friends. My friends in my neighborhood came as well as some of my classmates in college. Unfortunately some of them were unable to join the party for personal commitments. I don’t blame them for being unable to come, because these are commitments they need to fulfill.

We had lasagna, fried chicken, a birthday cake and ice cream for the occasion while enjoying the beats from some of my favorite tunes from artists/bands like Parokya ni Edgar, Westlife, Rivermaya and many of my favorite songs. My home turned into a computer shop as they were playing computer games along the way.

Well to cap the afternoon, I went out to buy my favorite Starbucks Frappucino® Coffee Jelly in Venti size and saved 50% from the original price as it was the first day of the Happy Frappucino Hour, and for the first time, I used the name “K-Smoove” on my cup.

Another year has come and pass. It was also a time for me to look back at what has happened for the past 18 years of my existence. Even though I grow another year older, I will continue to be the dude who lives a fun, fulfilling, friendly and simple life. A dude who has no vices. The guy who is addicted to basketball, travel, anime and many other things. I will continue to be a steward to my family and PEEPS. I’ll always be “The Walking GPS”.

Okay then, I am happy to say to each and everyone.
THANK YOU!
MARAMING SALAMAT PO!
DANKE SCHÖN!
MERCI BEAUCOUP!
ありがとう!

I like to thank my family for putting up the feast today, as well as to my 2nd street PEEPS for coming over today and enjoy another birthday with me. To two of my TROPA-Guise PEEPS Deece and Ryan (who came all the way from the south of the metro) for coming over to my place. Though we were not complete, we had a lot of fun today.

I like to thank the PEEPS who greeted me via text on my cellphone, greeted me on my Facebook by wall post or PM, tweets on my Twitter. I hope to meet you guys in person very soon (especially my batchmates around UST) and to see the PEEPS who I haven’t seen in a very long time.

To my birthday-mates Albie, Peter, Camille, Mapps and CJ. I’m sure we had a good one on our birthday celebrations.

And most importantly, I would like to THANK GOD for the blessings I have received in the 18 years of my existence in this world. I wish for more HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to come in the future.

Tomorrow, on April 29 (April 30 in the Philippines), the WWE’s pay-per-view where the rules are off comes to the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. WWE Extreme Rules.
In the main event, Brock Lesnar returns to action in the WWE year after 8 years, fresh from his MMA stint with the UFC will face off against the WWE’s top man today in John Cena in a Extreme Rules match. Lesnar a former NCAA Champion, a three time WWE Champion, a former UFC Heavyweight champion returned to the WWE the night after WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami and nailed John Cena who was coming off a tough loss against The Rock at WrestleMania with his signature F-5. Lesnar who claims to be the “new face of the WWE” with Raw and SmackDown GM John Laurinaitis on his side. These two men however, are no strangers facing each other. Where in 2003, when Cena was just starting to make his name, he feuded with Lesnar for the WWE title and it was in this feud that Cena’s Attitude Adjustment (then called F-U) was born to match Lesnar’s F-5. Can Lesnar back his words? or can Cena prove his doubters wrong and defeat Lesnar?
WWE Champion CM Punk once again returns to his hometown of Chicago and will face Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship in a Chicago Street Fight. Punk defeated Jericho at WrestleMania and sealed his name as the “best in the world”. However, Jericho has been targeting Punk’s straight-edge personality for the past couple of months throwing a bottle of whisky on Punk’s head and telling stories on Punk’s personal life. Can Jericho beat Punk in his hometown to win the title? or will Punk do some home cookin’ and once again retain his championship gold against Jericho?

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus will defend his title against Daniel Bryan in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Sheamus who won the World Heavyweight title aginst Bryan at WrestleMania in a record time of 18 seconds. Bryan got rid of his girlfriend A.J. whom he kissed during the match before getting nailed by the Brogue Kick to lose his title will look to bounce back and knock off the Great White. Can the Great White retain his title? or will the man who says “Yes! Yes! Yes!” take back the gold that he lost?

The feud between “The Viper” Randy Orton and “The Big Red Monster” Kane continues as they face off once again, this time in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Kane defeated Orton at WrestleMania. Orton won in a No Disqualification Match on SmackDown. Then aftewards, Kane attacked Orton’s father “Cowboy” Bob Orton. Who will win in this match between two of the WWE’s most feared superstars? Will it be the Viper? or the Big Red Monster?

Intercontinental Champion Big Show will defend his Intercontintental Title against Cody Rhodes where the type of match will be determined by the spin of the wheel. Big Show who ended Rhodes’ long title reign at WrestleMania after all the trash-talk that Cody gave to Show. Can The World’s Largest Intercontinental Champion retain his title? or can Rhodes get retribution and reclaim the gold he lost?

Santino Marella will defend his United States Championship against The Miz in a pre-show match. While Nikki Bella will defend her Divas Championship against a injured “Glamazon” Beth Phoenix.

Eddie Guerrero: Lie, Cheat and Steal

Eddie Guerrero wins WWE Championship at No Way Out 2004
Video ©WWE/YouTube

As I was browsing videos on YouTube in one afternoon. I stumbled upon videos of the legendary wrestler Eddie Guerrero. Eddie who is a part of the famed Guerrero wrestling family of Latino heritage which composed of his father Gory, his brothers Chavo Sr., Mando, and Hector, and his nephew and once tag team partner Chavo Jr. was a former WWE Champion, a former United States Champion, a former Intercontinental Champion, a former European Champion, a multiple Tag Team Champion. He has done it all in his career.

Despite the accomplishments that he had in his career, he is well known for his trait of “lie, cheat and steal”. as Eddie uses these tactics to his advantage in matches known as “The Smokin’ Gun” where he uses a foreign object to his advantage. One of the times he used it which was hitting the steel chair to the mat and tossing it to his opponent and then Eddie lies down to the floor and pretend that he got hit by his opponent with the steel chair, and the time he pretended to be hurt and use it against his opponent. His Latino Heat desire has captivated fans during his entire career. His promos of lying, cheating and stealing things from other wrestlers were timeless and funny to watch. As well of course, he drives to the ring with his trademark low rider with all the hydraulics installed on to the car to the comfortable seats. Whether he was the good guy or not, he is one of the most charismatic wrestlers that ever lived. He will always be ready to nail his opponents with his trademark “Three Amigos” (three vertical suplexes) to the Frog Splash and to the Lasso from El Paso.

Unfortunately, his life was cut short. On November 13, 2005, Guerrero died in his hotel room in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 38. In the following days, the episodes of WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown were dedicated to the life of Eddie Guerrero from his humble beginnings in El Paso, Texas to his family life and most importantly his illustrious and decorated wrestling career. The following year, he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his nephew Chavo Guerrero Jr. and his friends Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit. It has been almost 7 years since Eddie passed away, but his memory will live on to his many fans all over the world. He will always be remembered as the man who lies, cheats and steals and is honest about it. You can never tell if he’s still alive right now when he fights the new guys like CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Alberto del Rio, The Miz and other wrestlers out there or maybe get involved in a Rock-Cena like once in a lifetime matchup. I’m sure up in the heaven’s, he has a great grin on his face.

“Life turns on a dime. have no idea what tomorrow will bring… sure life would be a lot easier if we knew what was going to happen. You’ve got to live by faith one day at a time.”  – Eddie Guerrero

Avengers was the time-bomb.

WARNING: THIS BLOG CONTAINS SPOILERS!
SO IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCH THE MOVIE. DON’T READ THIS YET.

Last night, me and my family went to the movies to watch the new movie from Marvel called The Avengers which feature some of your favorite Marvel superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow as well as Nick Fury as they fight the forces of Loki, the step-brother of Thor.
Let me get it straight for, since this is not a credible movie review because I’m no professional movie critic. I’m just a fan for movies like this so I can’t get enough of talking about it. It was the “time-bomb” of all movies. A combustible group with different sets of characters and skills. All I can say is “Woah!” or “Damn!” with every scene in the movie. It was an awesome experience to say the least.
The fight/action/suspense scenes were the BOMB! When Barton was hypnotized at the start to Captain America getting saved from Loki by Iron Man. Thor and Iron Man’s battle scene. Banner losing it to become Hulk. Agent Coulson’s death. Barton getting unhypnotized by Romanov. The Avengers Assemble scene, and to their final battle which ended in victory and Romanov closing the portal. Where in the end, the “A” stood up in Stark’s damaged building.

The movie has a lighter side like when Stark claims himself as a genius, billionaire, playboy and philantrophist. Hulk beat up Loki and called him a “puny lord”. Hulk punching Thor for saving the Black Widow. Hulk’s scream that woke up Stark after he threw the missile into the portal and when Stark said “Please tell no one kissed me.”. Stark’s laid back personality, his cool tricks/quotes during fights, and obsession to eat Shawarma. Aside from the awesome action scenes. The movie has some funny moments.
As I exit the movie theater. Words can’t describe how I felt. It was a great feeling.
So I wonder, when will they make a movie with all Marvel characters on like the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, among others. When it happens, it will be the BOMB! of all movies.
Rogers: “Big man, in a suit of armor… take that away, who are you?”
Stark: “Uhh… genius, billionaire, playboy, philantrophist…”
